Known as "Adventure Central" as there are so many activities to do on the lake, river and the World Heritage Tongariro National Park, there are quieter pursuits too.

We are 10 minutes from Tokaanu where you can soak in hot thermal pools or find places to dine. Turangi shops,cafe's,restaurants and the mighty Tongariro River are 15 minutes away.

Visit the National Trout Center and Freshwater Aquarium, museum, hatchery and underwater viewing chamber.

Enjoy fishing (guides available) or a round of golf.

Walking and cycling tracks are many and varied, from a riverside stroll to the renowned Tongaririo crossing.

Ski fields and National Park Headquarters are an attractive 40 minutes drive from here.
